Flatt Golf Services, Inc. (FGS) was started in 1989 by Larry W. Flatt, who saw the growing demand in the golf industry for quality golf course consulting services. Literally growing up working for his father on the Weeks Park GC and La Vista CC in Wichita Falls, Texas, Flatt has been working in the golf industry for over 45 years. After a highly successful career as Parks and Recreation and Community Development Director for the City of Overland Park, Kansas, Flatt turned his priorities back to the golf business and his company has been providing quality golf consulting services to the golf industry.

FGS brings special and unique experience to bear in their approach to golf course consulting services. FGS has designed several popular and successful golf courses and they have also directly supervised the day to day construction of many of these golf courses. But, their most unique and beneficial qualifications are the wealth of real world experiences gained operating and managing several of the courses that they designed and built.

FGS has prepared numerous golf course feasibility studies, performed site analysis and master plans for golf course & residential developments, implemented the remodeling and renovation of existing golf courses, negotiated the purchase of golf courses, developed comprehensive management plans and operational procedures for highly successful golf courses and designed and supervised construction of several successful golf courses in the Midwest.

This expertise has allowed FGS to provide high quality golf course consulting services to communities and clients around the country. From small communities, such as State Center, Iowa (pop. 1,200), to larger cities like Kansas City, Missouri (pop. 435,146), and private clients like Bayer, Inc. (Miles, Inc.) and J.C. Nichols Company, FGS has proven its ability to provide creative and reliable designs, studies and plans that result in the development of high quality, public and private golf courses.
